Certification in SQL DBA or must have completed SQL DBA training. SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008, SSIS packages. Very good understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. · The Trainee Data Base Administrator (DBA) is responsible for providing assistance to DBA who is providing 1st level technical support for the multiple database environments viz. Production, QA and Development for multiple clients. · He is required to work on all 3 shifts and provide support to US based clients and will be required to work as per US work and holiday schedule. · He will be learning the various tasks for monitoring the scheduled jobs, identifying the cause of job failure and taking corrective actions for failed jobs as per the defined documentation. · He will assist DBA for managing the disk space on various servers and will prepare periodic report of disk space and old databases and present to client for deletion. · He learn to provide necessary support to development team which frequently needs copies of production database for their testing purpose and need to run scripts in production environment and provide necessary read access to required databases and remove the same after stipulated time. · He will be leaning the process for executing the 'Implementation Plan (IP)' from development environment till production and be ready to execute such IPs independently in 3 months time. · He will be learning the process of weekly execution of 'Release' i.e. execution of approved 'Implementation Plan' in production environment. · He will acquire the skill to prepare 'Visio' documentation of the scheduled jobs for the client. · He will acquire the skill to create new SSIS package or modify existing SSIS package as per client's business requirement. · He will learn and document the various processes and procedure required for coordination with IT support team during connectivity failure and escalation process.
